Intel just announced Thunderbolt 5 (80 Gbps)

Looking forward to its PCIe Gen 4 support. Present day TB4 isn’t good enough for high-performance flash where we see time and again <2.8 GB/s for reads and writes substantially worse. Looks like TB5 should be closing that gap considerably.
Not sure I’m buying the whole 120 Gbps “Bandwidth Boost” thing, but I do wonder if TB5 will eventually also make way for 5K resolutions at higher refresh rates.
