Quote-Unquote Apps has released Highland Pro 3.0, a major upgrade to the screenwriting app (see Michael Cohen’s “Writing Screenplays with Highland,” 18 May 2015). Developed by John August (writer of movies such as Big Fish and Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle) and his team, the screenplay app is updated with a new /Lookup feature that can provide word definitions, world facts, and more by just typing a slash and asking a question. It also adds a Shelf where you can store snippets of text, notes, and to-do lists, a Title Page Builder that provides automatic formatting for film and television scripts, Custom Pages for frequently used page types, and a new drag-and-drop Header/Footer Builder. Shortly after this release, version 3.0.1 was issued to add an Accessibility section to Settings, fix the Jump to Page command, improve the Copy as Rich Text command using the Novel template, and fix an inconsistency when mixing bold and underline markup. It’s available via the Mac App Store as a $59.99 annual subscription or $9.99 monthly subscription. ($59.99 annual subscription from the Mac App Store, free update for version 3, 35.1 MB, macOS 13+)
