Focus—obvious lack

Perhaps I am missing something, but the obvious “customization feature” missing from focus is the period of “oblivion.” I want “Work” or a custom focus “Writing,” to last for two hours. Not one hour. Not at a certain time. For TWO HOURS. Or three. Or whatever. Or even Do Not Disturb for two hours. I think this cannot be done? Yes? How did Apple miss this? I would welcome suggestions on how I can substitute. I like Focus when I am lecturing, or holding scheduled events. But when I really need it is when I am writing. And then for periods determined by circumstances. Thank you.

You could set up a Writing focus and then create a Shortcut to set the Focus to Writing, wait 2 hours , and then set the Writing focus off.

Thanks! Shortcuts I have not turned to, but they deserve my attention, it seems.
But this is a good practical solution. When focus is on, it IS the case isn’t it that it stays on until it is terminated?

I believe so unless you have set one of the Apple-defined conditions to turn it off.

I couldn’t resist trying to set one up myself. You might import this and modify it appropriately.

Thank you so much. I’ll give it a spin this weekend. Perhaps I’ll learn about shortcuts int he process!

PS 5 second is about how long I manage to write before there is an interruption. Good design! :)
