Apple has released updates for its three professional video apps: Final Cut Pro 11.2, Compressor 4.11, and Motion 5.11. Final Cut Pro removes support for FireWire-connected devices in macOS 26 Tahoe, unlocks more controls for ProRes RAW video shot on iPhone (for adjusting exposure, color temperature, tint, and demosaicing), adds support for editing Apple Log 2 footage with the vibrancy of the original scene by applying the Apple Log 2 LUT, improves stability when adjusting sliders in the ProRes RAW Settings window, resolves an issue that prevented recordings made with the Voiceover tool from being saved, and fixes a bug that caused Final Cut Pro to quit when RED RAW clips were selected in the timeline.
Both Compressor and Motion take advantage of the flexibility and wider color gamut of Apple Log 2 video. Compressor also improves ProRes RAW video captured on iPhone with denoising powered by machine learning using Apple silicon, and fixes an issue where selecting additional Compressor instances in Settings would not enable additional instances. Additionally, Motion addresses a crash that occurred when the HUD was displayed. All three apps now require macOS 15.6 Sequoia or later. (Free updates.
