I recently purchased a Jadaol ethernet cable from Amazon to try out on my iMac 2019. I connected it to the Spectrum router and then to the computer. I finally got the computer to recognize it, and I had disconnected it and reconnected it to the back of the computer with no problem. Finally all worked great. I was attempting to disconnect it from the iMac to connect it to another computer but the cable will now not come out of the iMac. I’ve tried in every way to get it to do so. The plastic clip depresses but the plug will not budge. I’m afraid to try and force it out for fear of damaging the computer. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.
The only time I’ve seen this happen is when the plastic clip seems to depress, but really isn’t depressed enough to release. When this has happened to me it has always been with a booted Ethernet cable. What I’ve done is unplug from power, then use small bent nose pliers to get close to the port and compress the plastic latch and get it out.
I hope this helps.

I’ve had some where the plastic tab would push down but the inner part wouldn’t due to softness in the plastic. Solution was to use a very small screwdriver to press down on the inner part.
Thank you both for your assistance. Right now I am trying to get the bugs out of my update to Sequoia which is giving me all kinds of crazy messes to clean up, including a thing called “System software from Coral Inc was blocked from loading” which is driving the computer crazy and me too lol. No idea what it is or where it came from. Once that is done I will try your suggestions.
Very much appreciate your suggestions!!!
That’s what I’ve done in the past. Eventually I learned to avoid those booted cables, because it’s so hard to pinch them enough to release.
Thank you very much! I’m still not removing it because I am trying to get mu OS upgrade to behave itself. I’m posting another item asking for help with several issues I am having with Sequoia 15.3.1 grrrr. ;-)
