I noticed recently that the Finder-click feature wasn’t working properly with ForkLift 4.3. I didn’t know whether the problem was with the recent update to ForkLift 4.3 or Default Folder X (DFX) 6.1.5, but only my Finder windows created the shadow in DFX. It was as though DFX couldn’t see ForkLift windows. (DFX can “see” windows in several Finder replacements, at this writing ForkLift, Path Finder, and QSpace.) This problem appeared very recently, and I can’t recall whether it was before or after my update to macOS 15.4.
I tried going to Privacy Settings and turning off “Screen & System Audio Recording” permission for DFX (Apple prompted to quit & restart DFX), then Recording back on (quit & restart DFX), and that restored the ability of DefaultFolderX to create the shadow (& associated DFX functionality) for ForkLift windows.
I didn’t find this in searching this forum so I add it here in hope that this helps others.
