Maybe I don’t understand what you mean by “sign electronically”?
Why do you need Acrobat? You can sign documents with Preview. I’ve done that for years.

He probably means signing with a digital signature, one that’s associated with a digital certificate. That’s the main reason I have Acrobat installed as well. As far as I know, Preview doesn’t allow you to do that.

This is definitely a superior feature of Acrobat but I can honestly say I have never had a circumstance where this has been requested. I typically use Preview with a simple signature - even for things like tax and other government departments.
Correct. I use Preview too, Although not requested, but before Preview had that capability to add an image of your signature, I used Acrobat where a signature was requested, and that did seemed to be accepted. And you never know with some idiot is going to require the ceritified signature. Gov’t is one thing, business is another, especially purchasing real estate.

I was supervising a small staff (14 people) during the pandemic, and I signed off on their time sheets electronically using the facsimile signature in Preview. Saved me printing out, signing, and scanning the signed documents back in.
Generally I am a consumer of docs that need to be signed, and DocuSign seems to have worked past their trouble with scammers sending faked documents for dubious action.
