That makes sense. The friend I recommended it to first dropped by Yodobashi Camera (the huge electronics store in Tokyo) and they were selling it there for 10,000 yen (about $66). Meanwhile online, with my link, the exact same item is available with same day delivery for just 2,500 yen (about $17).
These generic things from Chinese manufacturers get resold under different labels all the time.
