I think I’m developing some sort of Sonoma blindness.
I’ve been on Sonoma for a few weeks now and have suddenly noticed a change that is annoying me. In fact a couple of changes.
~The first is that there is no longer a column in the mailbox view for flags. Now they appear in a new sub-thing in the sidebar called Flagged. This I can live with although it’s annoying.
The more infuriating thing is the removal of the column showing the number of attachments in a mail.
I have used that column in all my Mac life as it allows me to quickly sort important messages from the trivial.
At the moment I am looking for a mail that includes 4 documents relating to an upcoming trip, i.e flight vouchers, hotel vouchers, train tickets and insurance.
Previously I would look at the column and see that mail from travel agent xyz with 4 attachments was the one, not the one with 1, 2 or 3.
Now I have to open all the mails from the agent from around the date to see which one has the 4 - particularly when the all have the same title.
Has anyone found a way of adding the column back in? I haven’t managed to find it so far.
Right-click on an existing column like Subject and select Flags from that list.
That should stick across launches. You might have to repeat it though for different mailboxes or folders depending on how you set up and use Mail.

It could also be that you need to do View / Use column layout.

Cheers Simon.
Another of Apple’s “You’ll never find it” preferences.
