Years into its campaign to overhaul its mapping data, Apple has closed out 2020 with more-detailed maps for Canada along with a slew of new features.
But apparently still no cycling directions. I’ll have to keep using Google Maps.
The good news for Canadians is that look around isn’t just in the major cities. I just took a “trip” via look around from Edmonton 150 km (90 miles) north to Athabasca, a town of about 3,000 including secondary highways. Along the way, I explored some little villages, almost all of which showed up via this wonderful feature, and all in high resolution.
Yeah, I was struggling to get a representative view of Canada and I thought a search for Tim Hortons would be good for a gag. I also considered Canadian Tire.
