Busy Apps has released BusyCal 2026.1.2 with notable improvements to its menu bar extension. The calendar app’s Menu App no longer launches the main BusyCal app and now lets you navigate freely across any number of months. It can also be dragged out of the menu bar to become a floating window, remembers its last on-screen position and size, supports infinite scrolling in the agenda list, and can be resized both vertically and horizontally.
The update also allows you to Control-click any event to open it in a new window and keep it on screen, groups search results by date for improved navigation, improves calendar search so that matching events are now highlighted with a dotted outline for quicker visual identification, improves alarm snoozing and dismissal handling so the main calendar app is no longer launched, enhances compatibility with Stalwart CalDAV server, improves Reminders Sync integration for tasks syncing from services that support custom priority levels, and fixes a UK-locale issue where changing the time could also change the date when the system was using a custom ISO date format. ($49.99 new for BusyCal from Busy Apps or the Mac App Store, free update, in Setapp, 83.3 MB, release notes, macOS 11.5+)
