This is new (to me) with my migration from Sequoia to Tahoe (26.1). I have three folders on my desktop, one is an alias. The latter randomly switches between a blank icon with a dotted border, and a proper alias folder icon. The name of the folder remains visible. It’s mostly the blank version. I had to record the screen for a couple minutes before I caught it switching.
I’ve encountered it as well. Force quitting Finder via Command-Option-Esc should resolve that. I haven’t seen it since installing the macOS 26.2 betas, hopefully that means it’s fixed for all soon.
