I just updated my Mac (2018 mini) to macOS 11.6.2. The initial installation seemed to work just fine. It took a while, but I expected that so I left the room to do some household chores. When I came back about 30 minutes later, it was done.

After restarting, it presented me a screen about Find My Mac. I’m not sure why, because FMM was already turned on. There was nothing to do but click Next so I did. After getting back to the desktop, I needed to re-enter my Google login credentials in order to let Contacts, Calendar and Notes access it.

Interesting. I updated my new MBP M1 Pro to macOS 12.1. My experience was very similar to yours with 11.6.2, even to the point of the odd “You’ll really like FMM, be sure to turn on Location Services!” interstitial page (text tongue in cheek). So far (about 24 hours), no issues.

And I just updated my TV on Sunday! Ok, here goes another 30 minute update.
