Apple Releases New M1-Based 24-inch iMac in Spring Colors

The 21" iMacs also had no user-upgradeable storage; only the 27" iMacs did. We’ll see what Apple does for iMac round 2.

Bumping this thread…

I had hoped that Apple would introduce an update to the 24-inch iMac this year using M2 so that it could have more RAM (32 to 64 GB would be nice!).

Anyone have any idea when this might happen?

Nope–and I have concluded that the right thing to do is just move over to the Studio. Which, TBH, apart from the value-for-money considerations post-Intel, is obviously the way forward for me. I really only have my iMac because of the (very rare) need to run Windows; if after the Silicon transition I’ll need multiple PCs anyway, there’s obviously a benefit to using a single monitor when needed for both (not simultaneously, obviously).
