Another text replacements issue

I have a MacOS-level replacement set up to automatically turn double hyphens into a square bullet point:

– becomes ■ (Note that the TidBITS Talk interface has transformed my hyphens into an em dash, but never mind that.)

This worked flawlessly across apps until recently, for some reason, the Edge browser began insisting that to complete the transformation I must tap the Down arrow.

Any suggestions for getting this to work effortlessly again?

Did you set the “MacOS-level replacement”, in Settings > Keyboard > Text Replacement or otherwise?

Thanks. Don’t see that option in Sequoia. What am I missing?

Make that

System Settings > Keyboard > Text Input > Text Replacements

…which appears down at the bottom of your screenshot.

Thanks again. I get this. (Please hold your laughter at my frequent typos.)

Nothing about system-level settings.

Just to clarify, your “double hyphens to square bullet point” shortcut still works in other places, but not within the Edge browser?

Yes. Works fine in Chrome, for instance.

OK. It’s working again. Seems to have been an Edge issue, because the only change here is that Edge has upgraded itself from v. 136-0-3240-50 to v.136.0.3240.64.

Thanks as ever to those of you who offered help!
