AI: I KNEW it reminded me of something

Remember years ago when you couldn’t walk into an electronics store (such as BestBuy) without having 3D (and curved) TVs shoved down your grocery hole?

“There’s no better way to watch TV.”
“Look at this (demo) video!”
“Get on board now, before the prices go up!”

AI is beginning to look and sound the same. Sure, it looks cool, and it has some fantastic use-cases. But throwing AI tags on any and all software is about the same as the ass-hat at BestBuy repremanding me for not buying a 3D TV RIGHT FRIGGIN’ NOW!

I know AI is being used a LOT in various apps (I use it a lot in Photoshop alone), but my freakin screen-saver doesn’t need AI.

I don’t think AI is going anywhere (like the 3D TV graveyard), but I sure hope the marketing for it does.

Marketers gotta market. There’s always a new hotness to replace the old hotness.

Industry plays with customers like people play with cats chasing a laser pointer.

Here’s a shiny new thing. Go chase after it, spend all your time talking about it and spend all your money to buy it. Ignore the shiny thing we showed you last year - it never existed, and if it does, it’s gross buckets.

Reminds me of this: Apple Introduces Revolutionary New Laptop With No Keyboard - The Onion.

“I’ll buy almost anything if it’s shiny and made by Apple.”
