Acorn 8.4

Originally published at: Acorn 8.4 - TidBITS

Flying Meat has released Acorn 8.4, enabling you to more easily change GPS metadata for your image (via the File > File Info menu item) and export directly with a preset (using File > Export > Export with Preset). The update also adds a new Command Bar Action that examines the corners of a selection and fills them with the average color of those pixels, allows exporting of images in AVIF format, introduces two new filters for masking content (Circle Mask and Rectangle), bases the default font size for images on the size of the image, makes various performance improvements for Macs with Apple silicon, addresses a problem where the Offset and Wrap Layer palette might warn about empty values, and fixes a bug where the zoom palette mini-canvas would sometimes flicker when panning around the canvas.
