Accessibility Issue iOS 16

Having just upgraded our devices to iOS 16, I have an accessibility issue. The selection options have changed appearance:

iOS 16:

I have recently acquired a vision issue and find the new black-on-white format hard to differentiate from the surrounding text.

I can’t find a way to revert to the old appearance.

(Screenshot fragments from rhe official Apple Support manuals.)

The contextual menu now follows the light/dark appearance setting. You could set your phone to always use Dark (Settings > Display & Brightness). I’m not sure if there’s any other way to get the pop-up contextual menu to change back to its old look. But it’s worth also having a look in the Accessibility settings to see if there’s an increased contrast option that would help.

Thanks John. I had tried both of those. The Always Dark mode doesn’t suit my vision, while the Increase Contrast helped a little.
