4K Download has updated its 4K Video Downloader Plus app to version 26.2 with better file organization and smarter YouTube channel subscriptions (see “Beyond Streaming: Why and How to Download Videos from YouTube,” 12 July 2026). The video downloading utility now attaches processed files (such as with extracted vocals) directly to the source video, reworks the YouTube subscription update schedule to prevent your IP address being temporarily restricted by YouTube, resolves a crash that could happen when a subscription was deleted or the app was closed mid-download, ensures keyboard shortcuts are now visible in all menus, improves compatibility with recent macOS versions, and ensures the menu bar reliably hides items that no longer apply. There’s a free version of 4K Video Downloader Plus that limits downloading to 10 videos per day; it’s also available as a $15-per-year subscription, a $25 lifetime Personal version, and a $45 lifetime Pro version (see pricing page for differences).
