No need to be in any rush. Still more bugs than advantages for APFS users. May need to wait until Fusion Drives are no longer a thing.

No need to be in any rush. Still more bugs than advantages for APFS users. May need to wait until Fusion Drives are no longer a thing.

Al is spot on. I haven’t had time to write the article I need about what I’ve learned about APFS, but the short answer is that there’s no reason to format a Fusion Drive or hard drive as APFS since performance may suffer, and Apple really isn’t done with it (which is why there’s no documentation for developers yet).

Yes, Tim’s talk (and hallway conversations) at MacTech is what I’m basing my article on. He knows more about it than nearly anyone outside Apple.
