iOS 11 issues

dianed143@comcast.net
I don’t remember seeing these here and I can’t find them in a list of iOS 11 issues

1 - when the phone is plugged in and I’m playing music, it used to stay on, but would dim, as long as I was in the music app. All I had to do was tap the screen to wake it up and change a song. Now the phone completely goes to sleep meaning I have to push the home button and yes it shows me the music controls on the sleep screen but obviously smaller than when in the music app. I believe even my old Touch did the semi-awake behavior so I’m not sure why that was changed.

2 - the “zooming” feature of the icons when you hit the home button to get back to a main screen. I remember this being a huge thing in 10 and I had turned it off. Searching on zoom only brings up magnifying glass issues. I don’t know what that feature was called but I’d like to turn it off again.

Thanks
Diane

I get this one in the NPR News app also. Now I know it is likely an
Apple issue.

Also my phone does not always sync properly to my car. Periodically when
using the NPR News app the car display shows "blank" now playing
information and has the play button shown as if the app is paused. But
the app is happily playing through the system. At times it will "sync
up" without intervention or I power cycle the car audio system to bring
it back. This started with iOS 11.x. Not sure which x.

FYI my car is a 2016 Honda Civic Touring with the high end sound and
dash system.

David

I’m using a stock Ford deck vintage 2001. I’m plugged in via a PIE Aux connection.

It also turned off on me even with Maps going, if I went into the Music app.  :(

The camera always stayed on, as did MotionX GPS. I’m sure there were others.

Funny thing, I googled again and found a 2015 Apple discussion where someone was complaining about the feature, saying it was a huge security issue!

I left the camera on while typing this, and it turned off too. :(
