iOS 11.0.2 and Carplay

Fred Naddelman, DDS
I have a 2017 Nissan Maxima Platinum with Apple Carplay that connected successfully with my iPhone 6s running 10.3.3. Once I upgraded the iPhone to iOS 11.0.1 and now 11.0.2 Carplay no longer recognizes my phone and does not connect. But it still connects to my wife's iPhone 6s running 10.3.3. Aside from downgrading back to 10.3.3 any suggestions for getting 11.0.2 connecting to Carplay.

Thanks,

Fred

Hi Fred, you need to make the car system to “forget” your phone and then re-instate it, something similar happened to me with my Ford truck sometime ago.

Re: iOS 11.0.2 and Carplay

And there is also likely a way to "reset" your car system. For my 2016 Civic w/7" screen I have to hold down the power button (touch area) for 10 seconds. After over a year I've only had to do it twice.

And mine also has a deeply buried menu selection to reset to factory defaults. Ditto the twice thing.

I'd do the forget thing first though.
