Siri's voice

dianed143@comcast.net
Has anyone else had her voice change randomly? I have it set to the standard Siri voice, and halfway through yesterday she’s changed to a deeper, more flat voice.

This happened before but she changed back. I kind of miss the old voice!

This didn’t correspond with any updates - at least yesterday.

Re: Siri's voice

Brian Pearce
I noticed this would happen from time to time on my iPhone 6 — it would alternate between the “new” and “old” Siri voices. I thought perhaps it had something to do with being short on storage space (perhaps not being able to store higher-quality voice data?), but I replaced the phone before I had the chance to research the issue.

A friend with a newer phone had the old voice tonight.

Re: Siri's voice

So apparently I have it backwards. My Siri went back to an old voice for some reason. It’s possible I’m downloading the new one now - or maybe it would have fixed itself shortly.

I’d changed Siri’s voice to “British female” a month or so ago. When I installed iOS 4.2, she went back to “American female”. I switched back to British, and that one had to be downloaded again. Maybe the upgrade only downloaded the default voice for my phone’s localization, which is US...

Well the voice I like is back again. So odd! I’ve always had mine set to American female.
