SYSTEM FAILURE upon USB plug in of ALFA Long Range USB Adapter (11n WLAN)

Harald Sundt
SYSTEM FAILURE upon USB plug in of AWUS036H ALFA Long Range USB Adapter
(11n WLAN)

using an ALFA AWUS 036NHR_MacOS10.6 Driver

Every time I plug in the USB connection for the WifFi antenna the Mac
screen grays out with many languages and locks up needing a re boot.

Can you help me understand this failure?

I need to use a Public Access WiFi to connect to the internet because I
can not afford a phone or broadband service.

Thanks

Leo Rivers

Kernel panics are quite difficult to troubleshoot, but if it was
working before, you need to think back to what might have changed and
try to get back to the previous state.

Re: SYSTEM FAILURE upon USB plug in of ALFA Long Range USB Adapter (11n WLAN)

Harald Sundt
Greeting. My "previous state" was happily using Broadband.

Now I am perminantly poor and must let my iPhone turn into an iPod and
use WiFi to access my local Cottage Grove OR Public WiFi.

I am desperately trying to make my

AWUS036H ALFA Long Range USB Adapter
(11n WLAN)

work with my Mac Tower running Mac OS X 10.6.8 (10K549).

This WiFi booster enable my Linux/XP Dual Boot laptop able to reach my City's feeble signal.

AFTER installing the  ALFA provided software I THEN plug in the USB cable to the WiFi booster and the system crashes in gray multi-lingual FAIL.

I have written them. I expect an answer from them the same day my ex-wife calls up to apologize for being unfair to me.

If you know a booster system that WORKS for MAC TELL ME!

My broad band gets switched off mid month.

Sorry to sound stressed.

PS: You know of a WiFi handset phone or a good cheap buy minutes thing?

Thanks

ANY help tearfully appreciated.

Hal
