I get a fair bit of email with graphics in the signature block, threads that include previous attachments, etc.
Regularly I skim the email on iPad before going in more depth later on the Mac.
After many years on .mac, .me, .icloud, I am still living within the 5GB free space but it requires frequent attachment pruning.
One thing I’d like to do is remove attachments at the iOS phase instead of later dealing with the same mail on the Mac.
But I can’t find any option in iOS Mail to remove attachments. Internet searching comes up with a bunch of suggestions to log out and in of the iCloud account but that is not what I want or need to do. Just simply tap an attachment on any given email and remove it, and/or a command to remove all. Like in Mail for the Mac.
I know I don’t fit the Apple mold for how I should work and use their services and ‘their’ products, which I have the privilege of ‘owning’. Only asking about this one functionality that I haven’t been able to find on a device or after online hunting.

I don't think iOS Mail has an option to remove attachments, at least not on smaller devices (iPhone, iPod touch). I tried tapping in a number of places and different gestures. Looking online, I found some advice about deleting and re-adding an account to the device but that's just to reclaim space on the device, it's not going to help with your server-side quota.
