Reduce Motion, Live and iOS 11.1

Francisco Hirsch
Up to iOS 11.0 I had no problem looking at live photos on my iPhone. Since 11.1 it’s no longer so.
Yesterday I realized that Live photos was Dead photos. The same happened on my wife’s iPhone.
Searching I found out that the culprit was the Reduce Motion setting, which I had set in a previous iOS system.
Is this a bug? Or working-as-designed?

While I can’t say whether it’s a bug or a feature, I do know that it’s not new. People have been reporting the same problem and the same fix for at least two years over in the Apple Support Communities.

This.

You can view them on your Mac, or you can disable the reduce motion setting.
