Re: Trying not to sell an iMac on eBay

Paul Brians
Sorry for the earlier typo. “Sell” not “feel.”

I finally called PayPal at 888-221-1161. When I said my problem was with eBay, the phone tree told me to talk to eBay directly. Since eBay doesn’t provide a phone number posted on its help and contact page, I tried punching 0 and was immediately switched to eBay help where a support guy talked me through the somewhat complex and obscure method of ending an auction early. Success!

When I asked how I could reach eBay help by phone in the future he gave me this number: 866 540-3229. It’s not posted on the site.

The auction has now been cancelled and I am greatly relieved. Of course eBay immediately sent me an email coaxing me to relist the item. But I can ignore that.

Perhaps you could share roughly what that process is in case someone else runs into it?

cheers... -Adam
