DVD-R stability is good.

John Burt

In 2004 I ran across and bought a DVR that could edit the recordings and burn DVDs. Since I had a lot of video tapes that were dying, I bought one and started transferring. Over the years I've talked with many experts. They all said it was unlikely the DVD-Rs would have a long shelf life but that commercial DVDs should last longer.

They were wrong. It is 2000 DVDs later. I've never had a DVD-R fail. Quite a few of the commercial DVD's have failed.
