Better TidBITS Talk archives at Nabble

adamengst

Hi folks,

I finally found some time (well, I was sick in bed) to check out
Nabble, which offers archiving of mailing lists. It has been running
for about a week now, and it's pretty good. What's even better is that
I believe I can send them an mbox file with older archives to get them
into the archive as well, so we'll be able to bring back the entire
archive, possibly from the very beginning. That would be cool.

We have a custom domain set up for it, so check out
http://talk.tidbits.com/ and let me know what you think. It's not the
ultimate archive ever, but it's way better than the Mailman default
archives.

cheers... -Adam

Hey Adam,

Sorry to hear you've been ill.

Scoping out Nabble, and it does look pretty good.  It *would* be great to have the whole archive online.

It's looking like I have a fairly good collection of posts, but there
are some holes due to corruption in my mailbox files. Let me know if
you have a good full archive of TidBITS Talk, particularly the years
2007 and 2008, where I'm seeing more serious corruption.

cheers... -Adam

I have 2007 and 2008 for sure. I assume they are complete. As soon as I get back to my desktop I will send you the archives.

I have 6083 messages from 2007 and 5293 from 2008. Not sure if that is
complete sets, should be close.  They're in IMAP at the moment but it
looks like there is a Postbox plug-in that lets me export to mbox.

Thanks everyone. I have a number of offers now, so hold on and I'll
let people know if I find individual holes.

I also seem to have a fairly complete set for those years.. 6084 for 2007, and 5627 from 2008.

Let me know if you want them and i'll export them and make them available online.

Cheers,

Dave

You sure you're not double counting all the ones you sent as well :)

No, I only get one copy of all list messages. However, it probably does include the Tidbits weekly newsletters.
