Ars Technica (and Apple) say that Apple will send a code to use on the store:
http://arstechnica.com/apple/2012/07/bought-a-mac-recently-get-your-free-copy-of-mountain-lion/ "Once you submit your claim and Apple verifies you in the system, Apple will send you a download code via e-mail where you can grab Mountain Lion from the App Store—no purchase required." Just wondering if anyone else received their code. - nello ____________TidBITS Talk Participation Guidelines____________ Post only when you have something substantive to contribute. > Just wondering if anyone else received their code. My point was that I submitted a claim but did not receive a code by email or any other way. OTOH the App Store simply offered a Download button where I'm pretty sure it had showed a price earlier in the day. By then I was willing to just pay up. My claim was confusing as clicking through from the NZ Store in one case took me to the Australian claim page. Later in the day I tried a different link that seemed to take me to an NZ claim page. It gets extra confusing because Apple in NZ is tied to Apple Australia. It occurs to me as I write this that since I'd been using the beta *perhaps* this was what gave me the download and perhaps I haven't actually installed the release version yet. Yet when I'd downloaded the beta I didn't just get it from the Store. Now I'm confused… Cheers, Miraz ____________TidBITS Talk Participation Guidelines____________ Post only when you have something substantive to contribute.
